GMH Capital Partners celebrates 'Topping Off' of River House in Providence

The development, design and construction team celebrated the "Topping Off" for the new River House student residences, part of the transformative South Street Landing project in Providence. 

Located on the Providence River, in the heart of downtown Providence's new Innovation and Design District, the River House was designed by SGA and features 174 units for graduate students. Halvorson Design is responsible for landscape design that includes courtyards, shared pedestrian vehicular street, and creative on-site stormwater management. 

Phase 1A of Whittier Street Apartments redevelopment begins

A collaboration between the Boston Housing Authority, POAH, and the Madison Park Development Corp, the Whittier Choice Neighborhood Initiative aims to create a healthier, more vibrant environment for the community. Phase 1A involves the demolition and removal of existing structures to make way for three new buildings designed by The Architectural Team that will house 70 rental units and 16 townhomes as well as commercial recreational space. 

Halvorson Design is providing landscape architecture services for this new public housing project, which will feature commercial/retail and amenity space as well as publicly-accessible open space and streetscape improvements.

Contractors NEI General Contracting and JANEY Construction are teaming on the Phase 1A redevelopment of the Whittier Street Apartments site.
