Vision for McIntyre building comes into focus

Members of the Redgate/Kane development team, which includes Bruner/Cott, DeStefano Architects and landscape architect Halvorson Design, shared their team's latest updates for the redevelopment of the McIntyre Federal Building in Portsmouth during a recent City Hall meeting.

The team proposes to renovate the former federal building to house office space and introduce four new mixed-use buildings, enlivening the public realm with outdoor public plazas and streetscapes designed by Halvorson Design as well as a viewing station overlooking the Piscataqua River.

Portsmouth Mayor Jack Blalock said he was “very pleased with the direction” the proposed redevelopment of the site is taking, while Assistant Mayor Cliff Lazenby said he “really liked how open and activated the site is."
