An East Boston complex big on community amenities starts preleasing

Clippership Wharf, the much-anticipated waterfront development rising in East Boston, has begun preleasing in advance of its June opening. The four-building complex, developed by Lendlease with The Architectural Team and landscape by Halvorson Design, will feature 284 apartments and 194 condo units, a meeting/event space, art gallery, and public access to the waterfront.

Transforming a long-vacant, contaminated site in East Boston, this new transit-oriented development creates a “destination on the waterfront” and with spectacular views of the Boston skyline and new public waterfront amenities, including outdoor seating, a dog park, a public boating dock, a canoe and kayak rental central, and a newly built portion of the Boston Harborwalk.

A model for resilient design, the development also includes a living shoreline, a restored salt marsh and marine habitat that helps to protect the site from coastal flooding.
