We are collaborating with the Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA), Kittleson, and Chronic Heritage to develop a conceptual design for the Mystic Lakes Path, a universally accessible shared-use path along the eastern shoreline of Mystic Lakes in the towns of Winchester and Arlington.
The design for the estimated new two-mile path, consists of a mixture of granular surface on the south side and pavement on the north, while also improving the ecological health of the watershed and enhancing the recreational experience. The project will incorporate a connection to the Tri-community Greenway and Mystic River Path, as well as a future connection to the Minutemen Bikeway.
As part of the process, the project team is working with a steering committee, assembled by MyRWA and made up of residents. The team is soliciting stakeholder dialogue through a series of public hearings held between January and June 2024 to inform the design.
This new public amenity was made possible through a MassTrails grant and contribution from the Lawrence and Lillian Solomon Foundation. To follow along with the project’s progression, please click here.
