$1.2 Billion Channelside Development Approved for Fort Point Neighborhood

The future transformation of a nearly 6.5-acre parking lot in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood was approved by the Boston Planning and Development Agency. The site will become a multi-purpose life science and residential complex with vibrant community spaces.

Working alongside Related Beal and KPF on the Channelside project, Halvorson | Tighe & Bond Studio is focusing on the open space and public realm that connect the community to this transformative development. The site design will be resilient to rising sea levels and in line with standards identified in Climate Ready South Boston. Additionally, there will be improved access to the Fort Point Channel and a variety of public outdoor spaces including a large civic lawn, interactive water feature and waterfront amphitheater.
