The City of Nashua is undertaking the removal of invasive species along the Nashua River in preparation for the implementation of the Downtown Riverfront Development Plan, developed by Halvorson. Officials hired engineers VHB—working closely with landscape architects at Halvorson—to advance the design for extending the riverwalk and introducing opportunities to engage with the water.
Design is expected to continue into Fall 2020, and involves extensive public outreach. Economic Development Director Tim Cummings hopes the implementation of the plan will “change the culture of the city to look at their downtown river in a different way.”
