Halvorson Design is working with engineers HDR and architects Touloukian Touloukian to renovate this active open space in the heart of Harvard Square. Renovations are designed to make the plaza accessible, improve circulation, enhance connections to the surrounding area, and provide flexibility for events.
The Out of Town News kiosk, which originally served as the entrance to the Harvard Square station and has been an active newsstand since 1984, is being restored and repurposed by architect Ted Touloukian to better serve the public.
