In an effort to improve the park experience for all users, the Charles River Esplanade introduced a new signage program to provide information on park amenities and historic monuments while also making it easier to navigate the 3-mile-long park system.
The Esplanade Association worked with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) on the sign content and permitting and with Halvorson Design Partnership and signage expert Design Communications to lead the design, fabrication, and installation process.
Welcome signs installed at park entrances will provide users with a map, information, and regulations to help improve the visitor experience. Three additional welcome signs are planned to be installed at Charles Street, Blossom Street, and Charles River Dam Road once current and proposed construction activities within those areas are complete.
