In collaboration with the Greenovate Climate Ready Leaders program and the Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA), Rob Adams and Olivia Fragale of Halvorson Design will lead a walking tour on June 28th from 6 to 9 pm that focuses on Climate Ready South Boston, a report currently underway by Arcadis, Halvorson Design, the Woods Hole Group, and CivicMoxie for the City of Boston that will be released in the coming months.
Focused on coastal conditions, sea level rise, and neighborhood solutions for protecting South Boston from rising sea levels and storm surges, the tour will begin at the Binford Street Park within the Fort Point neighborhood and take participants through Fan Pier, past the ICA, down Seaport Blvd, and conclude at South Boston Maritime Park.
Topics for discussion relate to site-specific conditions highlighting flood pathways, water quality, and design opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear about the short- and long-term interventions that will be implemented between now and 2070 to help protect and enhance Boston’s most exposed neighborhood.
