In conjunction with HMFH Architects, Halvorson developed the site and program for Boston Renaissance Charter School on a 6-acre site in Hyde Park.
Halvorson designed new playgrounds, grading, paving, walls, curbs, plantings, fences and contaminated soil remediation on the site of this former factory. The school is a LEED certifiable renovation of two historic, traditional brick buildings and a new addition. At the time of its 2010 construction, Boston Renaissance was Massachusetts’ largest charter school construction project to date.
