Master Plan + Welcome Center Design | Ithaca, New York

Working closely with Cornell Plantations Botanical Garden staff and stakeholders, Halvorson developed a Landscape Master Plan to guide the siting and design of an ambitious new Conservatory.

The plan balances the expansion of the Botanical Garden’s facilities and programs with the preservation of the beloved gardens and historic sites. It improves access, facilitates maintenance, creates new interpretation and education opportunities, and improves the Garden’s unity and legibility.

Working with Toronto architects Baird Sampson Neuert, Halvorson provided site design for the first phase Plan implementation, including a new Welcome Center.
